　　As the drawing presents, there is a man walking across the street absorbedly focusing on his cell phone without noticing the surroundings. This sort of phenomenon is not uncommon and rare in some metropolis, especially among the youngsters.

　　What the picture illustrates is the prevailing situation that has long existed in today's China. That is the mobile phone obsession. With the advent of information age, people are becoming increasingly fascinated on the electronic products, especially the cell phones. Not surprisingly, you could easily notice that most of us are obsessed in sending messages, playing online games with their mobile phones. It cannot be denied that this phenomenon may negatively impact the relationship among people, and therefore they will become estranged and isolated.

　　Personally, in view of the overuse of mobile phones, I hold that we individuals should raise the necessary awareness that good relationship are reinforced by sincere and face-to-face communication.

　　對白：

　　子：Dad, I'm a bit worried about disposing of nuclear waste(處理核廢料)

　　父：If you can empty the dustbin(垃圾筒) here, you can do anything

　　Directions：

　　For this part，you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay. You should start your essay with a brief description of the picture and then express your views on the importance of doing small things before undertaking something big. You should write at least 120 words but no more than 180 words.

　　烈日炎炎，轟轟烈烈，2013年6月15日，小千萬中國大學(xué)生參加的四六級考試今日開始。

　　上午的四級考試，最大的亮點(diǎn)之一，就是寫作。亮點(diǎn)在于其命題形式：圖畫作文。

　　圖畫的內(nèi)容和構(gòu)圖不難：父親和男孩子的對話，孩子說“ Dad，I am a bit worried about disposing ofnuclear weapon. (爸爸，我有點(diǎn)擔(dān)心清除核武器這個(gè)問題)”，父親則回答“ If you can empty the dustbin, you can doanything. (如果你能把垃圾桶倒掉，你就能坐好任何事情)” ，說話間，手指著垃圾桶。

　　這幅圖畫和2012年6月的六級漫畫作文非常相似，當(dāng)時(shí)的圖中，也是兩人對話，女兒和父親。父親問女兒：“ Hi, sweetie, how was your school today ? (嘿，小甜心，你在今天在學(xué)校過得怎么樣?)” 女兒非常冷漠的回答：“Dad,youcan read all about it on my blogs. (爹哋，你自己可以在我的博客上讀到所有內(nèi)容)”，然后呢，女兒拔腿出門，留下父親一臉驚愕。

　　說回這個(gè)四級的作文題。

　　作文的第一段，要進(jìn)行簡單描繪圖畫內(nèi)容，這是必須的，也是題目中強(qiáng)制要求的(a brief description of the picture)。描述的時(shí)候，只要把父子兩的對話移植到第一段，然后把父親手指垃圾桶的動(dòng)作描繪一下就可以了，非常簡單。

　　作文的第二段，進(jìn)行主旨提煉并且論述。這幅圖畫很容易看出主題，那就是做大事之前，要先做小事(一屋不掃，何以掃天下),而且題目中其實(shí)早就已經(jīng)透露了主題了 (express your views on the importance ofdoing small things before undertaking something big.)因此，第二段通篇論述小事做起的重要性就可以了。屬于我在課堂上講過的作文三大分類之“積極主題，論述意義”

　　作文第三段，總結(jié)。這一段再次強(qiáng)調(diào)小事做起的意義，我們不能低估他的威力。文章最后可以以名人名言作為結(jié)尾。

　　We can see from the cartoon that there is a father talking with his son. Havingheard his son’s words that “ Dad, I am a bit worried about disposing of nuclearweapon.” The father replies that “ If you can empty the dustbin here, you cando anything” and points the garbage can beside him.

　　Funny and common as the conversation sounds, it reflects that the father intends to advise his son to do small things beforeundertaking big. Definitely, doing small things is the first step of success and will lay root for doing something big. By doing something small, we are able to accumulate experience, master skills and train ourselves to be more patient. In other words, we can be well prepared for further challenges in the course of fulfilling small things. By contrast, those who desire to do something big at once will constantly be haunted by disappointment, frustrations or even failures, as with opportunities-“something big”- showing up , they can hardly seize them because of the lack of experience and confidence stems from doing small things. Taking the picture presented above as a case in point, how can the little boy succeed in disposing of nuclear weapons if he even doesn’t know how to empty the dustbin?

　　From my perspective, under no circumstances should we undervalue the power of doing small things. Instead, we should regard small things as the source of experience, skills and the prerequisite of success. “Great achievement only belongs to those who can do small things perfectly.” Aristotle also used to say.

　　如圖所示，我們可以看見有一位父親正在和他的兒子聊天。當(dāng)父親聽到兒子說：“ 爸爸，我有點(diǎn)擔(dān)心如何處理核武器這個(gè)問題” 的時(shí)候，父親指著身邊的垃圾桶，并且回答道：“ 如果你可以把垃圾桶倒掉，你就可以做到任何事情”。

　　盡管這段父子對話聽起來滑稽、普通，然而他折射出父親的意圖，想勸告兒子在做大事之前，要先做好小事。很明顯，做好小事情是成功的第一步，并且能為將來的大事情打下基礎(chǔ)。通過做小事情，我們可以積累經(jīng)驗(yàn)，掌握技能，并且讓我們自己變得更加具有耐心。換句話說，我們可以在做小事情的過程中，為將來的大事情做好充分準(zhǔn)備。相反的，哪些想要一上來就做大事情的人，通常會(huì)遭受失望、挫折甚至是失敗，因?yàn)楫?dāng)機(jī)會(huì)這些“大事情”出現(xiàn)的時(shí)候，這部分人基本無法抓住機(jī)會(huì)，因?yàn)樗麄內(nèi)鄙僭醋杂谧鲂∈逻^程當(dāng)中的經(jīng)驗(yàn)和自信。以所給的這幅圖畫為例，如果這個(gè)男孩都不知道如何傾倒垃圾桶，他怎么可能做成功處理核武器這樣的大事呢?

　　在我看來，任何時(shí)候我們都不應(yīng)該輕視做小事的威力。取而代之的是，我們應(yīng)該將小事情視為經(jīng)驗(yàn)、技能的源泉，和成功的先決條件。亞里士多德也曾經(jīng)說過：“ 偉大的成就，只屬于那些能夠?qū)⑿∈虑樽龅酵昝赖娜恕薄?/p> http://m.stanzs.com/
